ZX81 USB Keyboard Controller (for ZX81 case)

This board will allow you to use the keyboard of a ZX81 or TS1000 as a USB keyboard on a modern PC. (It will not let you use a USB keyboard on a ZX81).

This can use useful for testing ZX81 membranes, or to convert a dead machine into a USB keyboard or integrate a Raspberry Pi or other single board computer inside. As the board is mounted upside down, you can cut down partly damaged membrane tails to recover an otheruse unusable keyboard membrane.

The keys are all mapped in the firmware on the board to the most appropriate keys on a modern USB keyboard. 

There is a small piezo sounder which makes a click noise when a key is pressed, to give a bit of feedback to the user.

This auction is for the built and tested USB keyboard controller board, a USB A-B lead, and mounting pillars. No ZX81 cases or membranes are included.
