This board will allow you to use the keyboard from a ZX Specturm +2 as a USB keyboard on a modern PC. (It will not let you use a USB keyboard on a Spectrum).
This is for the black ZX Specturm +2 (+2A/+2B/+3) version with the 11 and 13 way ribbon cables. See other listings for the grey ZX Spectrum +2 version with the 8 and 5 way ribbon cables. Check the picture gallery for clarification. Neither version are suitable for use with the 48K rubber key or Spectrum+ keyboards.
This can use useful for testing Spectrum keyboards, or to convert a dead machine into a USB keyboard or integrate a Raspberry Pi or other single board computer inside.
The keys are all mapped in the firmware on the board to the most appropriate keys on a modern USB keyboard (see link below)
There is a 2 pin header which can be wired to the power LED (cable no included).
Note I have been unable to get 13 way connectors, so 14 way are fited (and some of older the photos show 16 way). The ribbon tails should be installed aligned to the edges of the board - see picture gallery for installation.
This auction is for the built and tested USB keyboard controller board, a USB A-B lead, and mounting pillars. No Spectrum cases or keyboards are included.
