These are the replacement ZX Printer belts offered by Johan replacement ZX Printer belt is 3D printed in a material called TPU which is a highly flexible material. The shore hardness is 95A, very close to the original belt.

In order to use this belt you´ll have to dismantle the printer and we suggest you read the ZX Printer service manual found at https://spectrumforeveryone.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/ZX-Printer-Service-Manual.pdf before doing so.

The replacement belt is constructed with two holes opposite each other, at the same location where the pins and styluses are on original belt. The pins from the original belt must be pushed into these holes and the styluses secured onto the pins, with the little cap on top.

If you don´t have the original pins they can be substituted by 1mm solder, pianowire, TIG weldingwire or whatever you can source. It´s a quite fiddly job, but doable.

The styluses must be correctly and firmly mounted onto the pins and finally the caps must be pushed on top. The styluses must not move or rotate when mounted or anticipated function of the printer will be lost.

The styluses go one direction only over the paper.

One end touches the metal plate in the top cover, connected with the white wire, and the other end touches the paper.

At the right timing, the stylus gets voltage, what scorches the surface of the paper, resulting in black dots.

The longer bent end of the stylus must slide over the edge facing paper, not the shorter end.

Please read the manual carefully in order to mount the pins, styluses and caps correctly on the belt and position the belt correctly on the wheels.
