PET Video Out (for non-CRTC PETs)

This is board which plugs into the monitor connector of a PET board and provides a composite video signal for bench testing.

This will only work with PET 2001/2001N/30xx and 9" 40xx machines. It will not work on anything with a 6545 CRTC, as that will generate signals that do not match the timing required by most composite video monitors (although it is possible using a modified editor ROM, but that is left as an exercise for the reader).

The signal generated is NTSC, slightly shifted to the right. Not all modern monitors will cope with a composite signal that is missing a colour burst, although most do. Likewise many modern TVs and monitors will support NTSC composite, even in PAL regions.

The board is powered by clipping it to a 9V source, the polarity protection diode is normally a good option, see photos.
