Description

This is a built and tested Tynemouth Software Minstrel Issue 3 computer.

The Minstrel 3 is a Z80 base 8 bit computer which is a ZX81 / TS1000 compatible. It has 32K of RAM with high resolution graphics support, and improved composite video output where the orignal TV output would have been. 

The PCB is the same form factor as the ZX81, so can fit in an original ZX81 case and use the original (or a modern replacement) membrane. (note the video out connector is in a different place on the TS1000, so those cases are not suitable withtout modification). You can also build it as a standalone computer with a membrane stuck to a perspex baseplate or with the Minstrel keyboard (contact me if you would like to discuss the options).

This auction is for a built and tested mainboard only. No ZX81 membrane, case or baseplate, cabels or power supply are included. The Z80 CPU, ROM and RAM are socketed, but all the other ICs are soldered directly.
