Description
FireCPU 7501 is a new replacement for the old MOS 7501 and 8501 CPU.
The design goal was to be possibly the most compatible MOS7501/8501 replacement for Commodore 16, 116, Plus/4 and LittleSixteen, and in extensive testing it has been shown to be that.
It uses real 6502A CPU and a CPLD to implement the 7501 functionality, including real data direction register for IO port that some other replacements lack. Real DDR allows the use of more exotic fast loaders for example.
PCB fits to Plus/4, evades the capacitors and keyboard & top will close, when ordered with short headers, even if 6502A is still socketed. If used in C16 (LittleSixteen), longer pin header is needed to evade the TED chip.
Hence headers are hand-assembled after defining which model you need, please state if you are using the FireCPU with Plus/4 or C16.
Price is 39€ plus shipping, price includes fully assembled FireCPU with short or long pins according to customer needs, and tested (but old) 6502A CPU.
