Commodore VIC20 C2N Datassette Drive Belt Set - "Shoe Box" Type

THIS PACK CONTAINS 2 BELTS - THE MAIN DRIVE BELT AND THE TAPE COUNTER BELT.

These belts are for the cream or black coloured "Shoe Box" style VIC C2N Datassette unit which was made in TAIWAN. It is essential  to identify where your Datassette was manufactured as the drive mechanisms are different and so are the belt sizes.  This does matter - look on the bottom of your unit where the country of manufacture is shown (see photographs).

The cause of poor loading performance from these Datassette units is often a perishing drive belt becoming slack, or more commonly kinked where it has sat without moving around the drive pulley for 30 years or so. This kink then becomes a permanent feature of the belt causing it to jump and slip.

The belts supplied are brand-new replacements, as close as is possible to the design and size of the originals, but made from modern, more resilient materials. They have been tested extensively on this machine and work perfectly.

Manufactured in Germany, they are of premium quality. They are not the cheap, terrible quality things from the Chinese belt bundles so widely available now.
