Description

This is a replacement GAL Chip for the MrX AY-Sound Interface for the Sinclair ZX81 Home Computer.
 
This replacement chip is simple to fit (just lever out the old GAL chip carefully, and pop in the new one, and expands the MrX Sound Interface to provide Turbo Sound (6 channels full AY sound). 
 
In order to benefit from the GAL, you will either need
  • 2 x MrX Sound interfaces (one with original GAL and one with replacement GAL)
  • 1 x MrX Sound Interface + ZXPand-AY Sound Module (plugged into the ZXPand Interface)
 

To find out the amazing effects which can be created with the 6 channels, compare the original music using the 3 channels provided on one MrX Sound Interface (or the ZXpand-AY) with music recorded using the6 channels available by using the MrX Sound Interface (with upgraded GAL) in combination with the ZXpand-AY.
