Description
We are pleased to be able to offer new replacement keyboard membranes for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum+/128 computer (see our other listings for standard rubber key Spectrums) - manufactured 2011.
Keyboard membrane failure is the most common problem with a Sinclair ZX Spectrum home computer.
If some of the keys on your Sinclair ZX Spectrum home computer no longer work (for example you cannot get past the copyright startup screen), then it is bound to mean that you need a new keyboard membrane.
The Keyboard Membranes fit the following models:
- Sinclair ZX Spectrum +48 (with the hard keyboard)
- Sinclair ZX Spectrum +128 (this is the model with a hard keyboard - no built in cassette deck or disk drive, but it has the heatsink on the side of the unit, lovingly referred to as a toastrack).
These membranes have been manufactured in the UK and following customer feedback and unlike the other similar membranes you may come across, incorporate larger holes for the screw pillars. Some customers found that the screw pillars were not always flush on the cases, meaning that the keyboard membrane did not sit flat against the keys - meaning you needed to press the keys that bit harder.
Easy to fit, using instructions supplied and manufactured using the latest techniques to make them more resistant to UV light and long term storage, they are made from much thicker materials than the original membranes - these new membranes will help keep the Sinclair ZX Spectrum+/ ZX Spectrum 128 (the heatsink model) running for a good few more years.
