This is a fully tested and working set of dual 3.5" ED Floppy Disk Drives for use with computers with a standard Shugart floppy disk controller capable of handling this rare flopy disk format, such as the Sinclair QL home computer with Gold Card or Super Gold Card.
Made by Miracle Systems, these are now EXTREMELY RARE to find, with most floppy disk drives supporting a mere 720K or even 1440K, these drives took storage to the next step, being able to store up to 3.2MB of data on a floppy disk.
The ED floppy disks are 4MB unformatted - only the QL can support them formatted at 3.2MB - the relative few PC motherboards which could handle these disks were limited to 2.88MB formatted.
The drives are housed in an external casing, with integral power supply (for a 220-240V mains supply) and come with a 1 metre cable to connect to the floppy disk interface.
The drives will also handle HD (1.44MB / 1440K) and DD (720K) floppy disks.
